QR Codes

WAKU Care can generate QR codes for your devices. Scanning a QR code provides quick access to the device in the application or through the Customer Portal.

Each device has a unique Portal Token — a unique identifier used for QR code access. When someone scans a device’s QR code, they are directed to the device’s page, either within the WAKU Care application or through the public Customer Portal.

  1. Open the Customer Portal settings
  2. Enable QR code access for each device individually — or via multi-select
  3. The QR code is generated automatically based on the device’s portal token (the QR code stays the same even after deactivation/reactivation)
  4. Download or print the QR code

You can also generate QR codes in bulk for multiple devices at once. This is useful when labeling a large number of devices during initial setup.

Technicians can scan a device’s QR code with their phone to instantly open the device’s detail page in WAKU Care — no searching required.

When the Customer Portal is enabled, end-customers can scan a device’s QR code to report an issue directly, without needing a WAKU Care account.

QR codes help with physical inventory checks — scan each device to verify it exists and confirm its details.

WAKU Care tracks QR code usage:

  • Scan count — How many times the QR code has been scanned
  • Last scanned — When the QR code was last used
  • Failed scans — Scans that didn’t result in successful access
