Shared Deployments
When your workspace manages customer workspaces (as a service provider or manufacturer), you also work with deployments from those child workspaces. This page explains how that works and what to keep in mind regarding visibility and filtering.
Parent and child workspaces
Section titled “Parent and child workspaces”- Your own workspace is the parent (managing) workspace.
- For each customer, you manage a child workspace (customer workspace). See Customer Workspaces.
Every deployment the managing workspace creates in a customer workspace is automatically shared with both. This lets your team and the customer work on the same devices — with clearly separated access rights.
How shared deployments appear
Section titled “How shared deployments appear”Shared deployments appear in your deployment switcher alongside your own. You can work in them just like in your own deployments, provided you have a matching deployment role.
Visibility and filtering
Section titled “Visibility and filtering”- Customers can’t see each other — Each customer workspace is isolated; only the managing workspace sees across customers.
- Global deployment filter — In many lists (devices, cases, work orders, service jobs), the deployment filter narrows the displayed data. This lets you focus on a specific site or customer.
- Master data flows downward — Master data maintained by the parent workspace (e.g. device models) is available to the child workspaces. See Master Data.
