Inventory

The Inventory system in WAKU Care helps you manage spare parts across your deployments.

  • Track what’s in stock
  • Receive incoming goods
  • Plan parts usage for work orders using picking lists
  • Record which parts are assembled into which devices
  • Monitor consumption during maintenance work

A Spare Part is an individual inventory item at a specific deployment. Each spare part is linked to a Part Model. A spare part can exist at multiple locations with different quantities at each.

Spare parts with quantities vs. spare parts with serial numbers

Section titled “Spare parts with quantities vs. spare parts with serial numbers”

WAKU Care allows you to distinguish between spare parts that are typically available in large quantities and those that have their own serial number. Spare parts with serial numbers are sometimes also called individual parts. Individual parts have the advantage that their history can be traced precisely. Spare parts without serial numbers also have a detailed history, but you only know that a certain number of this part model was used — not which specific parts those were.

Part Model (the definition of a type of spare part), part manufacturers, and part categories are master data and are maintained centrally under Master Data > Parts.

Part Locations represent physical storage locations within a deployment — shelves, bins, warehouses, or other storage systems. Part locations can be set up hierarchically (e.g., Warehouse > Shelf A > Bin 3). See Managing Part Locations.
